Practicing makes permanent!
When you practice remember the more times you play something the stronger your muscle memory will be. Be sure the way you are playing it is correct. Learning something wrong takes twice as much time to relearn.
Always start practice with a goal. The more precise and detailed the better. Think of what you did in class or at your lesson, for example "I will count the measure I had trouble with until I can do it without mistakes." Of course then we have to do what we say to do. Push yourself during practice to take chances and work on things that are hard. You will be amazed at how much you can really do if you just try.
Below is an example of a practice card I use in my orchestra. This is a good way to keep track of your progress and your goals.
